CariPestNet is an email network that assists people of the Caribbean sub-region in obtaining  advice and information on the identification and management of plant pests (Arthropods, micro-organisms, nematodes, molluscs & weeds). The Statistics Sub-programme compiles statistics on the member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) .  These data are submitted to the Secretariat by the member states themselves, either by the National Statistics Office or the Central Bank, depending on the nature of the data. Occasionally, in the absence of data from the member states, third party sources would be utilised. In keeping with a decision taken at the 30th Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) held 2-4 July 2009 in Guyana, the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM) will now be referred to as the Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN) . The CRNM, as the Office of Trade Negotiations of the CARICOM Secretariat, now has extended responsibility for the coordination, development, and execution of negotiating strategies for all Community external trade negotiations.

The objective of the IDATD - Integrated Database of Trade Disputes for Latin America and the Caribbean  published by International Trade and Integration Division, UN ECLAC , Chile is to provide provide information and disseminate knowledge among officials of ECLAC member countries, experts, members of the private sector and interested persons in general on the trade dispute systems in which Latin American and Caribbean countries participate and to facilitate policymaking and policy implementation. In September 2004, IICA started www.carapn.net   to enable connections, linkages and sharing of experiences for building the CaRAPN community and serving agriculture.

At the Agricultural Information and Documentation Service of the Americas ( SIDALC) 10  meeting held in Costa Rica in September 2009, Kathryn Duncan, Information and Communication Specialist, IICA -Trinidad made a presentation on Agricultural Information Services in the Caribbean. The third SIDALC strategic workshop, organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), through the Orton Commemorative Library, technical coordinator of the Agricultural Information and Documentation Service of the Americas (SIDALC), brought together information specialists from the agriculture and environment sector to analyze the current state of the service, share experiences and learn of new trends in the management of information worldwide.

The objective of this Caribbean Librarians for Agriculture (CLA) Blog is to highlight online information resources which support sustainable Agriculture (including Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Development and the Environment) in the Caribbean. Resources to manage online information will also be discussed. This blog is an initiative of the Agricultural Librarians Network of Trinidad and Tobago (ALINTT). It is hoped that policy makers, researchers, students, extension personnel, farmers and persons interested in agriculture will find the resources posted on the site useful.
