The Caribbean Knowledge Management Centre 's  Caribbean Digital Library has a virtual collection of Caribbean documents and other information resources available on the world wide web arranged for easy retrieval under twenty seven broad subject headings, of which, agriculture is one. The Statistics Sub-programme compiles statistics on the member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) .  These data are submitted to the Secretariat by the member states themselves, either by the National Statistics Office or the Central Bank, depending on the nature of the data. Occasionally, in the absence of data from the member states, third party sources would be utilised. Agri-Beat   from the   Caribbean Regional Agriculture Policy Network (CaRAPN) provides links to the publications like: AgriView In a Nutshell i-Bulletins CaRAPNotes Though the newer editions are online, some of the early issues e.g. "In a Nutshell"  have very interesting material. In September 2004, IICA started www.carapn.net   to enable connections, linkages and sharing of experiences for building the CaRAPN community and serving agriculture.

GreenVine is a monthly bulletin of the National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) in Trinidad and Tobago. Published to provide a status of the situation and outlook for the Agri-Food sector, in response to the need for timely market intelligence.

At the Agricultural Information and Documentation Service of the Americas ( SIDALC) 10  meeting held in Costa Rica in September 2009, Kathryn Duncan, Information and Communication Specialist, IICA -Trinidad made a presentation on Agricultural Information Services in the Caribbean. The third SIDALC strategic workshop, organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), through the Orton Commemorative Library, technical coordinator of the Agricultural Information and Documentation Service of the Americas (SIDALC), brought together information specialists from the agriculture and environment sector to analyze the current state of the service, share experiences and learn of new trends in the management of information worldwide.

The Directory was compiled and edited by Shamin Renwick (Librarian, Agriculture and Life Sciences Division, Main Library, UWI and Past President of the Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries (ACURIL) , Claudette de Freitas (Information Networks Manager, Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and Liz  M. Pagán ( Director of Agricultural Experiment Station Library , University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus (UPRM) Puerto Rico) The idea of publishing this arose among its editors and then Director of the US National Agriculture Library , Dr. Peter Young, at a meeting of the Agricultural Libraries Section in the Annual ACURIL Conference held in Puerto Rico in June 2007.
